Other Trigeminal Autonomic Cephalalgias
Do Jin-Kuk

Abstract
The trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias (TACs) other than cluster headache are a group of short-lasting primary headache disorders associated with cranial autonomic symptoms. Their symptoms often overlap, but each has characteristic clinical features and different treatment responses. Paroxysmal hemicrania is a probably underreported primary headache disorder similar to cluster headache, but attacks are more frequent, shorter lasting, more common in women, and are absolutely responsive to indomethacin. Short-lasting unilateral neuralgiform headache with conjunctival injection and tearing(SUNCT) and short-lasting unilateral neuralgiform headache attacks with cranial autonomic symptoms (SUNA) are included in short-lasting unilateral neuralgiform headache attacks in the third edition of the International Headache Society (IHS) classification. SUNA may include SUNCT and simplifies the classification of patient without the conjunctival injection or the tearing. Hemicrania continua is relocated from other primary headaches to TACs section. Compared with other primary headaches, the other TACs have sterotypic features. Despite these facts, diagnostic and therapeutic errors are
frequently reported in the literature.
